Low Fat Does Not Mean Healthier

QUALITY matters. We live in a time where the media wrongly promotes fat as the dietary villain.

Did you know:
60% of your brain is fat?
your cells NEED fat in order to absorb vitamins like ADE&K?
fats regulate inflammation in the body?
fats help build your body’s cellular membranes and hormones?
fat is our body’s preferred source of energy?
low-fat processed foods are often packed FULL of sugars to compensate for the palatability of the food?

Ancestrally, our bodies were often fueled by fats and proteins most efficiently. Nowadays are diets are full of SUGAR. No wonder obesity, diabetes & mental health problems are so common now.

Eating quality fats will keep your body satisfied, help balance your blood sugar and keep your mood more stable.

I choose to fuel my body with quality, natural fats and I avoid fake fats like the dang plague!! What does this mean?

Eating fats like:
+ grass-fed butter
+ grass-fed ghee butter
+ avocado oil
+ coconut oil
+ olive oil
+ beef, pork or chicken fats (from properly raised animals)
+ fatty wild caught fish like salmon or sardines (don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!)
+ pastured eggies
+ nuts and seeds
+ quality dairy products like raw cheese (if you tolerate dairy!)

Avoid fake fats like:
+ hydrogenated oils (Margarine, Earth Balance, Country Crock, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, etc)
+ canola oil
+ soybean oil
+ cottonseed oil
+ safflower oil
+ corn oil, etc.

These fats are highly processed, unnatural, unstable, unnecessary, interfere with the healthy fats in our bodies and can cause major systemic inflammation.

Every body is different. There is NO one-size-fits-all diet. Some bodies have a harder time digesting fats. This is why making sure your digestion is on point is so important!
